Then Milwaukee’s 45th annual Summerfest is the perfect destination for your mid-summer getaway. Starting from Wednesday, June 27th, running till Sunday, July 8th, Milwaukee’s downtown will be inundated with Summerfesters.
Summerfest is the world’s largest music festival and with over 11 days of non-stop musical entertainment, it’s easy to see why. Hosted in Henry Maier Festival Park, the 23,000 capacity Marcus Amphitheater will be overflowing with sound and music lovers. Afraid the music and drinks are going to work you up an appetite? Summerfest has got you covered. On the scenic backdrop of Lake Michigan, 40 vendors will provide food for concert goers including Saz’s Dockside Barbecue and Famous Dave’s to name a few.
If that isn’t enough to get your mouth watering, then maybe you’ll find the 700 music groups on hand suitable for your music taste. With some of the biggest names in the music industry, Milwaukee is going all out for 2012’s Summerfest. Headliners include, Red hot Chilli Peppers, Rascal Flatts, Foo Fighters, Fun, Ben Folds Five, Tiesto, Chicago, The Beach Boys and Neil Diamond, just to name a few. One of the biggest features of this event is the emerging talent and local favorites section of the live performances. This enables guests to expand their horizons and experience a sound they have never heard before. So there is always something new happening at this summer’s festival.
