Independence Day in the United States is one of the biggest holidays with much of the country celebrating with cookouts and checking out Fireworks. We are hoping that the weather across the country allows for the shows to happen as it is one of the favorite ways to celebrate Independence Day.
Here are five of our favorite places across the country to check out Fireworks on the Fourth
Chicago
Our headquarters is based in Chicago and sadly Chicago has scaled back its fireworks show but we will reach out to our friends with prime rooftop views or those with boats in an attempt to get excellent vantage points for the 15 minute display from Chicago’s Navy Pier.
New Orleans
The” Big Easy” makes it easy to enjoy the 4th of July with its wonderful 22nd Go 4th On The River celebration. This celebration is an all-day festivity that features great events along the New Orleans Riverfront. All of which is capped off with a Dueling Barges Fireworks show choreographed to Classical Music. If you are anywhere near New Orleans, you should check this out.
Boston
The Boston Pops Firework Spectacular is one of the oldest and most well-known fireworks show. It features great fireworks but also a concert with performances by national acts such as Susan Tedeschi, Ellis Hall, Howie Day and Ayla Brown. The Boston Pops Spectacular is a great way to celebrate the 4th in the tri-city area.
New York City
The Big Apple has one of the biggest and best 4th of July fireworks celebrations in the United States. The Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks show is over 20 minutes long with roughly 70,000 pounds of explosions. Usher worked with Macy’s to curate the look of the show to a soundtrack. Additionally, they’re planning on some new effects that have never been seen before. If you can’t make it to New York City gather around your TV and check it out on NBC at 8pm EST.
Washington, D.C.
Fireworks in the Nation’s Capital are very popular and people travel from across the nation to experience 4th in DC. The fireworks are launched from the Reflection Pool area on the National Mall and are visible from most of DC and parts of Virginia. The show begins at 9:10pm EDST and last about 17 minutes. The National Mall area has a host of other events for the rest of the day.
